The German language– for some reason, even though I knew I was going to be in the german speaking country of germany, I didn’t think about the fact the once switching trains after the chunnel, I would be on a german train, I was kind of expecting a bit of french, but nien! Getting tired enough from the travel that I can understand almost every word I read, thats a bad sign.

Wuppertal Germany. Came here over night to see and ride on one of the strangest trasportation lines I’ve ever seen. The opposite of a subway, but the main transport for the town, it’s an elevated. It actually is hanging from the track. Something you would expect maybe at an amusement park, but no, there are tickets and stations. The ‘hangway’ (i don’t have any idea what it is called) goes directly over a winding river, the turns and goes up a hill a bit and follows over a main downtown street. The cars are still swinging after pulling into the station stops as the doors open. Fun for rebalancing whe hopping on or off. Not much to do in the Wupp, other than ride the track or go to a zoo, but only went to ride the track. Picked up a train back to Köln, for the travel to Münchin.
